The Farm
Our parents, Herb and Kathy Holden, purchased our farm in Broad Brook , CT in 1978. Today, our 60 head cow/calf operation is managed by son, Herb Holden Jr and daughter Ashley Holden. Growing up in 4-H and FFA definitely molded our love and dedication of raising cattle from an early age. Both of us went on to graduate from 4-year mid-western universities with degrees in animal science and meat science. After college, we returned to the farm and began to plan for the future. We recognized that there is a growing need and demand for today's smarter consumer to have access to locally grown beef products. As members of the local community, we do our best to support others in our community who make their living dedicated to agriculture.
Each pound of beef you buy from Broad Brook Beef supports more than 54 people who are committed to agriculture in the state of Connecticut.
We feel that it's important to work together, especially in a geography that has become as developed as ours.
